Three Bills on COVID-19 Workers’ Compensation Presumptions Under Review by Appropriations Committees

The California legislature will hear testimony today on the costs for the three California bills under consideration to create workers’ compensation compensability presumptions for coronavirus (COVID-19) cases. The bills passed their individual committee votes, but were placed in suspense pending further evaluations of their respective costs. Testimony on Senate Bill 1159 (SB 1159) will be heard by the Assembly Appropriations Committee, while Assembly Bill 196 (AB 196), and Assembly Bill 664 (AB 664) will be heard by the Senate Appropriations Committee.
