DIR Division of Workers’ Compensation Announces In-Person Hearings to Resume October 1st, 2021

The California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) announced on September 1st that in-person hearings will resume for trials, lien trials, expedited hearings and special adjudication unit (SAU) trials beginning October 1st, 2021. All parties should be aware that even though a notice may indicate that the case will be heard remotely, if it at one of the affected offices and is one of the types of proceedings above, it will be held in person at the assigned District Office. According to the DIR’s announcement, all offices will be affected except the following:

  • Eureka, which is now a completely virtual office
  • Satellite locations: Bishop, Marysville, Chico and Ukiah
Other proceedings like mandatory settlement conferences, priority conferences, status conferences, SAU conferences, and lein conferences will continue to be held remotely via the assigned conference lines.
