The California Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has suspended 9 more medical providers from the state’s workers’ compensation system. These providers were suspended for fraud and related criminal action. There have now been a total of 94 suspensions in California this year.
Suspended providers include: Sathish Narayanappa Babu of Bolingbrook, Illinois; Uche Chukwudi of Gardena; Charles Ikechukwu Okoye of Carson; Adeline Ekwebelem of Gardena; Victoria Kim of Los Angeles; and Daria Renee Million of Corona.
Three providers were suspended for participating in an illegal kickback scheme to issue unnecessary DME prescriptions to Medicare patients:
- Victoria Onyeabor of Ontario, DME provider and former owner of Fendih Medical Supplies Inc.
- Godwin Onyeabor of Ontario, DME provider and corporate officer of Fendih Medical Supplies Inc.
- Sri Jayantha Wijegunaratne of Anaheim Hills, physician
