21 More Medical Providers Suspended by California DWC

The California Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has suspended 21 more medical providers from the state’s workers’ compensation system for fraud and related criminal action. These suspensions bring the total number of providers suspended this year to 115.

Four providers were suspended for participating in an illegal kickback scheme to issue unnecessary DME prescriptions to Medicare patients: 

  • George Samuel Laing of Long Beach
  • Augustus Ohemeng of Buena Park
  • George Tarryk of Long Beach
  • Emmanuel Chidueme of Anaheim

Two providers were suspended for participating in an illegal kickback scheme to bill Medicare for fraudulent home health care services:

  • Sang Ahn of Los Angeles
  • Yeong Ja Lee of Los Angeles

Other suspended providers include Edward Bui Hai of Highland; Cesar Antonio Banda of Fair Oaks; Margaret Mary Haggerty of Tracy; Kiansi Blaise Boni of Torrance; Ariel Eliahou Abrahams of Los Angeles; Frederick Michael Silvers of Los Angeles; Sacha Comden of Santa Monica; Thomas Michael Ehlinger of Ojai; Alfred D. Trotter, Jr. of Chula Vista; Daniel Cham of Alhambra; John Anthony Flores of Mission Hills; Emilio Joseph Miranda of Los Angeles; Hrayr Karnig Shahinian of Los Angeles; Hossain Sahlolbei of Blythe; and Charles Roy Phillips of Fresno.
