California DIR, Division of Workers’ Compensation Expand District Office Services Effective January 11, 2021

As a result of the recent en banc decision by the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) announced on Thursday that beginning Monday, January 11th, walk-through appointments would be made available at District Offices. Calling the program a “walk-through alternative,” the DIR specified in a news bulletin that the procedures will be available using the LifeSize video platform’s virtual courtrooms, and only for Compromise and Release (C&R) or Stipulation with Request for Award documents. In order to take advantage of this procedure, you must 1st e-file your documents (as a walk-through) a full 24 hours before you plan on appearing. The filing will then be put in the walk-through queue on a 1st come 1st served basis.

SRTK will continue to monitor these developments and provide updates as available. Please contact us with any questions about what this may mean for you.
