Prior to joining the firm in 1983, Mr. Fink worked as a claims supervisor and hearing representative for Zenith Insurance Company and Fairmont Insurance Company. Bethe Barkley

BETHE C. BARKLEY graduated cum laude from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and in Dance. She was a member of Alpha Sigma Nu and Phi Sigma Tau, then earning her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School, where she participated in Moot Court and was a Law Review editor. Ms. Barkley also clerked for the Los Angeles office of SRTK while in law school, beginning her workers' compensation career with the firm in 2000. Jeff Stander

R. JEFFREY STANDER (Of Counsel) received his Bachelor’s degree from University of Southern California and his Juris Doctor degree from the University Of San Fernando Valley College Of Law. Prior to joining the firm in 1982, he was associated with law firms where he handled workers' compensation and general civil matters. He was also associated with the law firm that is house counsel for Western Employers' Insurance Company, where he handled workers' compensation defense matters exclusively. Mr. Stander has been an instructor for the Insurance Educational Association, a member of the Assessment Committee of the Lawyers’ Assistance Program for the State Bar of California, and a Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation law. Mr. Stander is a co-managing Shareholder in our Greater Los Angeles office and spends his leisure time weightlifting and gardening. Norin T. Grancell

NORIN T. GRANCELL (Of Counsel) received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California. He has practiced in many areas of civil law and previously handled cases in the area of workers' compensation defense and safety officer disability retirement. He lectured to numerous employer and attorney organizations on various workers' compensation subjects. Mr. Grancell is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation law. In 2009, he was first nominated by peers and then formally selected for inclusion to the prestigious list of Super Lawyers, a nationally-recognized lawyer rating organization that rigorously evaluates lawyers based on their outstanding achievements, professional activity, honors, and contributions to their profession. He has since continued as a Super Lawyer each year through 2014. Mr. Grancell is a founder of the firm, retired as a Shareholder on June 30, 2015, and is currently Of Counsel.

Jeff Walker

JEFFREY C. WALKER, Senior Associate, graduated from the California State University at Chico with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He received his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles where was the Note and Comment Editor of the Southwestern Journal of International Law and the recipient of several awards. Prior to joining SRTK, Mr. Walker worked for the Law Offices of Prindle, Amaro, Goetz, Hillyard, Barnes and Reinholtz where he represented insurers and employers in workers’ compensation and general litigation matters. From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Walker was President of the Southwestern Chapter of the American Association for Justice and CAALA. PAUL ZAYAT, Senior Associate, is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University in the field of Mechanical Engineering. SRPUI MARGARYAN, Senior Associate, graduated cum laude from the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, Law and Society with a Minor in Political Science. Alex Shapiro

ALEX SHAPIRO, Senior Associate, graduated cum laude from Occidental College in Los Angeles with a Bachelor’s degree in Diplomacy and World Affairs. Amir Khorsand

AMIR C. KHORSAND received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami, where he was the first law student in the school's history to win the Business School's highly coveted Rothschild Competition. Mr. Khorsand started his legal career in the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office before returning to his native California. Prior to joining SRTK, he gained a vast amount of experience dealing with municipal safety regulations and accident reconstruction issues while serving as General Counsel to a forensic engineering firm and most recently he was employed at a boutique firm in Los Angeles, practicing primarily workers compensation. Kori-Renee Hart

KORI-RENÉE HART graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Rhetoric. She then obtained a Juris Doctorate at University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. Prior to joining the greater Los Angeles office of SRTK, Kori-Renée defended employers and insurance companies for a boutique workers' compensation defense firm and also maintained her own private practice where she represented local businesses with commercial litigation. During law school, Kori-Renée is proud to have clerked for the Honorable Stephen Reinhardt as a judicial external with the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Judicial Circuit. In addition to her breadth of legal experience, Kori-Renée has the unique life experience of living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she learned to speak Spanish. Jason Dugas

JASON K. DUGAS graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Following college, he was a commissioned peace officer with the University of New Mexico Police Department and served as the vice president of his local union. Mr. Dugas later attended the New England School of Law located in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was named to the Dean’s List all three years and received top honors in his Administrative Law course. During law school, Mr. Dugas was also an intern with the civil division of the Attorney General’s office for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and volunteered at a program providing legal assistance for veterans. MARGARET FORER obtained her Juris Doctorate from Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nick Flint

MICHAEL (OMID) FOLADI joins the SRTK family as a Workers’ Compensation Specialist – State Bar of California – Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. Newsom was a member of the Mock Trial Advocacy Team and also a member of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program while working as a law clerk for a well-respected litigation firm in Orange County. KIMBERLY D. Mya Gibson

MYA GIBSON, Senior Managing Attorney, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Willamette University, Salem, Oregon and her Juris Doctorate from University of San Diego School of Law, subsequently earning her advanced professional law degree known as the Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation, also from the University of San Diego. KIMBERLYN M. James Wolken

JAMES A. Tim Kinsey

Jesse Peck

JESSE C. PECK, Senior Associate, received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego, majoring in Political Science with Concentration in International Relations and his Juris Doctorate as a magna cum laude from Whittier Law School, where he also served as Sergeant at Arms for the Student Bar Association. Prior to joining our firm in 2009, Mr. Peck was a law clerk and a Judicial Extern. Mr. Peck is an avid sports fan and currently handles a broad range of complex workers’ compensation cases, including the very specialized and highly litigious National Football League litigation in our state. Prior to this, Richard practiced in the areas of corporate and securities law and commercial litigation. With extensive knowledge of the Khmer language, Richard worked as a Khmer language translator and interpreter for over 11 years; the majority of this work consisted of Khmer language interpreting assignments for state and federal courts. During law school, Richard gained significant experience as a judicial extern for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and legal associate for the Documentation Center of Cambodia in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. JERRY P. REMPEL graduated with Honors from Butte College and received his Juris Doctorate from Cal Northern School of Law where he represented the school in the National Moot Court Competition. He has aggressively and successively handled all aspects of Workers’ Compensation Defense for both public and private employers and is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation law. Mr. Hemmings is a shareholder and the manager of our Central Coast office in Thousand Oaks and San Fernando Valley office in Woodland Hills. Mr. Hemmings is an avid supporter of the Wounded Warriors Project and Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. He is an Assistant Den/Patrol Leader and Popcorn “Colonel” Coordinator and is dedicated to helping “special needs” children through scouting activities. In his spare time, Mr. Hemmings enjoys surfing, camping, swimming and sports of all kinds.

Mark Burnstein

Mark Burnstein joins the SRTK family after earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Mark has extensive experience as a workers' compensation attorney, providing exclusive representation of self-insured employers, third party administrators and insurance companies, having also worked as In House Counsel for Hartford Insurance. Previously in his legal career, Mark also served as staff attorney for the Tort Litigation Group of a nationally-recognized law firm.
